Breakfast on the Farm

Last year for our first Fathers Day Trip, we visited the Prehistoric Forest and bought Jim his "Dad" chair.

This year for second annual Fathers Day trip started off with Breakfast on the Farm.  Its a Michigan sponsored event that opens a working cattle farm to the public.  Visitors get a chance to milk fake cows, feed real calves, see in person the amount of food and water a single cow can consume in a day ( a mere 40 gallons of water each!!).  Of course there is lots of animals for the kids to pet like kittens, rabbits, goats, and piglets, tractor rides, a trivia quiz to answer for prizes, ice cream bars and, as the event is called Breakfast on the Farm, you get to eat breakfast!  And you wanna know the best part?  It was all absolutely free!!!  What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!

Weinermobile

The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile made a stop in our hometown so of course we had to go see it.  What made it even more special was that for our 2nd annual Fathers Day Trip, which I haven't posted about yet, we went to the Henry Ford Museum and saw the very first Weinermobile made!

Waiting patiently for our free hot dog!!

Thinking Cool

You don't think I'd let today, July 25th aka Christmas in July, go by without a little celebration, do you?

This was actually decorating leftover cookies from my Christmas in July Storytime a couple weeks ago.  So since we had already decorated cookies this month, we moved on to pizza, special Christmas pizzas.

I was just about to throw them into the oven when Bree started screaming that we didn't put feet on the snowman.  So we added feet.

The finished product.  It was a little sad that the snowman's eye fell off but it still tasted yummy!

That didn't go so well

Whatever Bree does,

Jacob must do too.

This picture is blurry because I wanted to capture the moment but yet not really let him eat the paint.  It didn't work.  You'll see later.

Oh yes, quite upset.  The blue paint didn't taste so good so lets try the green...

...then the brown!

Tiny handprints grow so fast

Their awkward groping soon will clasp

A ball, a book, a sweetheart's hand,

A diploma, briefcase, a wedding band.

Tiny handprints grow so strong

It doesn't take them very long

To snap a shirt, to paint, to draw

To work hard , to drive a car

Tiny handprints grow to be

A person that is quite unique

A wonderful mix of so many things

With his own feelings, thought and dreams

Tiny handprints grow to rely

On his parents to bring him up just right

His parents pray that when he's grown

He'll say their job has been well done

Tiny handprints are ours to love

The sweetest gift from God above

A miracle that never is surpassed

How sad they grow up way to fast -

Boys will be boys

What else are you supposed to do in the puddle at the end of the driveway after the only rain we've had for weeks upon weeks??

Gotta love accidental belly flops!

Thats right, buddy.  Brush it off, brush it off!
