Not so typical

It started out as a typical day.

The children woke up, we played a little, they complained about being hungry.

"What do you want for breakfast?  Cereal with milk?  French toast?"

"No, none of those.  Can I pick, Mom?" asked Bree.

And thats how we ended up eating grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup at 9:07am.

My Little Helper

Whats great about a rainy Monday morning?

Going outside to play in the rain of course.

What do you do when your mom won't let you back in the house until she has a towel because you're dripping wet?

Hand wash the door.

Literally.

Maybe getting an all glass door wasn't the smartest idea.

Thanks Jacob.  I appreciate your help.

Country Corner Putt Putt

This is a post I started from earlier this summer.

On the way to Bree's Preschool graduation in May, we happened upon a putt putt course.

In the middle of the country.

In the middle of a corn field.

Literally.

Take a look in the background of every picture.  As these were taken in early June, the corn wasn't too high but you can see the crop starting to grow.  Once  fully grown, all you can see is a drive leading up to seemingly no where.

So on one, very windy, Sunday afternoon we headed out for an exciting adventure of teaching Bree and Jake how to putt putt.

The "sand" trap

The Loopty Loop

Of course it wouldn't be a putt putt course in Ohio without a silo.

We haven't returned yet to see if our game has improved but I forsee us being regular customers there every summer as the kids get older.
Its local.  Its affordable. Its wonderful memories.

And the winner is...

Oops.  Between work, children, cleaning, small remodeling project, actually having to mow the lawn for the first time since the beginning of June and many other life's interuptions, I never got around to announcing the winner of my first blog giveaway.  Without further ado...

The names were written down.

Then tossed into a container.

The container was vigorously shaken.

One slip was selected at random.

And the winner of the above
'Let It Snow' block set is...

YAY!!!!

My dear sister-in-law is the lucky winner!!
