Watermelon days

Remember that watermelon patch we walked through, searching and searching until we found that perfect melon to bring home? 

 

Well here we are enjoying the fruits of our labor.

 

Bree's first attempt at spitting a seed....

Lead to Jacob's first attempt at spitting a seed.....

Which lead to spitting out the entire mouth of watermelon instead and finding it hilarious.

Both kids caught in mid spit.

 

It was one darn good watermelon.

School Days

Lack of sleep and too much excitement (due to spending time at the lake, our county's fair and school starting) lead to a rough start on her first day.  I do believe we will be redoing first day photo shoots complete with a family picture.  She shouldn't change too much in a few days, will she?  And no one will ever be the wiser, right??

 

 

And if you're wondering why she's holding her previous school year picture in the above photo, here's why:

 

 

Once again this is an idea I found on Pinterest.  Every year on the first day of school Bree (and eventually Jake) will pose with the previous school years picture to have her photo taken.  Its a fun way to look back through the years and see the changes without digging out photo albums.  How awesome will one of Bree's Senior pictures be when she's holding a picture that has her all the way back to preschool days?!?!

 

I sure do plan ahead, don't I?
