From the glassy eyed, mouth hanging open position to the unwavering amount of time Jacob would spend on the DS if allowed, leaves me with only one thought.

 

 

Like father, like son.

Christmas comes early around here

 

 

 

I just LOVE this most wonderful time of the year, don't you?

More Changes

Remember last week when I mentioned all the changes that 2013 will be bringing?

 

 

Our pine trees that died this summer will need to be cut down next summer....

 

 

Bree will be starting Kindergarten....

 

 

Jacob will be starting preschool....

 

 

Well there is just one more little change that is coming in 2013:

 

Ultrasound picture at 10 weeks - as of today I'm 12 weeks.

 

 

Baby #3 on the way - due May 2013

 

The fun part about being pregnant this time around is that I won't have to go through this alone:

 

 

Two of Jim's brothers are also expecting little bundles of joy and we're all due within three weeks of each other!

 

Talk about a baby boom for the Dominique family!!

 

How do they do that?

I went to check on Bree on night but I couldn't find her in her bed.  Upon entering her room further, this is how I found her sleeping:

 

Must have been comfortable for her but don't ask me to sleep that way.

Skater Girl

Roller skates that is. 

 Bree went roller skating for the first time this October and LOVED it.

 

 

 

 

She was a natural.  Fell only a few times but laughed through it all.

 

 

  I think Santa got an idea for a Christmas gift.

 

Indian Summer Days

Between work, school and appointments, we've been trying to cram as much into these last few warm days as possible.

 

Lots of bike riding and sidewalk chalk.

 

 

 

Washing everything that isn't nailed down and drying it outside on the line.  Smells so wonderful.

 

Picnics are a given on days like these.

 

And enjoying the last of the leaves.

 

I've been soaking up the view of our backyard as I fear major changes are inevitable next summer.

 

Two of our pine trees didn't make it through the hot, dry summer.

 

And a third one looks like its on its way out too.

 

And speaking of changes coming next year, this little cutie will be heading into kindergarten.  I'm trying to take advantage of her part time school schedule this year but the days just seem to slip through my fingers.  Not to mention this little dude will be starting preschool next fall.

 

Where does the time go??  So many, many changes....

 

When will it all stop??

Troubleshooting

Jacob wanted a snack.

 

I told him no.

 

He found a solution.

 

Almost.

 

 

 

 

That's a fishing pole from a magnetic puzzle we have.  He tried his darnedest to catch himself  a "meena" (banana) or donut but it just didn't work.

 

Good thinking there, Buddy.

Rough Days

Its been rough around here.

 

Rough, I tell you.

 

The school year is in full swing which means we all have to get up and get our day started early.

 

So rough.

 

Its almost unbearable.

 

What do rough mornings look like?

 

Well.... like this:

 

 

Yep.  He's definately not a fan of this getting up early stuff.

 

OBX - Only on vacation

Only on vacation will you....

 

Allow your 4 year old to paint her own nails.

 

 

Forget to wear your shoes to the Aquarium.

 

Ride in the front seat of the truck and nap in the backseat.

 

Hit the hot tub...

 

...THEN eat breakfast!

Flashback

Fellow children of the 80's, do you remember these?:

 

I had them all. 

 

Lady and the Tramp.   Alice in Wonderland.  Cinderella.  Peter Pan.  Snow White.  And my personal favorite,

Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.

 

I could pop in the tape and listen to the story with songs from the actual movie over and over again for hours. 

Oh what fond memories they bring back.   

 

And now I'm sharing them with my kids.

 

I love Fall because...

Pumpkins. Leaves.  Halloween. 

Crock pot meals. 

 School.  Crisp air.  Apples.  Carmel Apples. 

Pumpkin pies.  Fairs. Fires in the fireplace. 

 Hot chocolate.  Thanksgiving. 

Family game nights.  Football.  Snuggling. 

Life slowing down.
