One of my fondest memories of working at the public library was seeing the elderly people come in with their ratty notebooks filled with crinkly page after page after page of titles of books they have read over the years. I would love to have one of those notebooks, but my children would probably get ahold of it and practice writing their name, rip out pages for paper airplanes, or just doodle in it.
