Memorial Day Weekend equals camping weekend. So while Jim was at work on Friday I got us all packed up and ready to go. When 4:30 hit, Jimmerz was home and we began our trek up to the lake for a long, ummm relaxing weekend. And immediately after dinner our adventure began with an unidentified rodent.
I thought it looked like someone's pet guinea pig got loose but dearest brother Randy was right when he said its actually a Muskrat. I had never seen one of these things before and they are quite cute. Not scared of people at all. Continuing on, Bree then took her first golf cart ride and she was hooked. No walking for the rest of the weekend. Just kidding but the golf cart did become her new toy of the weekend.
She even almost learned how to put the key into the ignition.
Eventually we made our way down to the beach where Bree was less than impressed with the sand. She didn't like getting "dirty".
With a little help from Grandma, she gradually got into the swing of it.
And speaking of swings, we just had to play at the playground.
Saturday broughts lots of hard work. For the boys that is. While Daddy, Papa and everyone else put in docks...
...Grandma, Bree and I headed down to the beach. Just as with the sand, Bree wasn't so sure about getting wet.
But, once again, with the help of Grandma quickly came to love the water too.
From all the excitement of the day plus "accidently" drinking lake water, Bree got sick Saturday night. It was a proud moment for Jim when he was able to catch the...umm.. sickeness in his hands (to keep it from going everywhere) without getting sick himself. So we decided that Bree and my camping weekend would end sooner than planned but not without squeezing in as much as possible first.
On our way home Sunday evening, I had a craving for chinese food. While we waited for our order, the cashier gave Bree a fortune cookie. It couldn't have been more perfectly suited.
Our weekend of camping and many adventures ended with one of God's best sunsets.
The sunset shot is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd Oh.My.God Grandma has the perfect body of a 20 year old.
Looks like you had a great time at the lake.
I hope Bree is feeling better soon with daddy's great help.
